How we find B2B buyers for a client, and what we skip

How we build a list of target companies for each client: where we search, how a company qualifies, how we find and check a contact it publishes, and what we never use.

Short answer

We start from the customers you already have. Every night we search maps, business directories and registries, company websites and 28 search engines, and keep the companies that match. For each one we look for an address it publishes for business and check that it can receive mail. Anything marked no solicitation, anything we cannot verify, and anyone who has unsubscribed is left out.

Who we look for

Every client’s system is set up separately, and it starts with a 30-minute call. We write down the industries, cities and company sizes that already buy from you, and the role that usually decides: an owner, a buyer or an operations manager. Companies that look like your competitors are marked and skipped.

Where we look

  • Maps and local business listings.
  • Business directories and public registries.
  • Companies’ own websites.
  • 28 web search engines. Each query goes to each engine separately, so one engine’s blind spots do not become ours.

Searches run overnight. Results are cached for a day, so the same search is not repeated over and over.

How a company qualifies

Each company is checked against your targets: the words on its own site, its country and city, and signs that it is a real, operating business. Poor fits are dropped. The rules are written down and versioned, so the same company gets the same answer every time. Cases the rules cannot decide go to a review queue instead of being guessed.

Finding the right contact

We open the company’s own website and look for an address it publishes for business: a named buyer or owner first, a general sales or info address otherwise. If the site has none, we look for a directory page that names the company exactly. We never guess an address from a name.

Checks before you see a company

  • The domain can receive mail.
  • The address is not on a blocklist and has not unsubscribed from you.
  • The page it came from does not say no solicitation.
  • The company is not a duplicate of one already in your list.

What we never use

  • Bought or rented lists.
  • Addresses built by guessing patterns such as first.last@.
  • Directory addresses that belong to the directory rather than the company.
  • Anyone who has unsubscribed, however long ago.

What you see

You press start once a day and that day’s buyers arrive, already checked, in your app. Email addresses stay hidden until a person replies; then you see their full details and the whole history. The rules we follow are in our note on cold email laws in Canada and the US, and the app itself is on the lead system page.
